The world’s longest railway tunnel is officially open! As the constructor, AlpTransit Gotthard AG held an unforgettable party – motto: Together at the Goal – with its employees and project partners.

The invitees travelled to Erstfeld on special trains, where they were welcomed with an aperitif in the works hall. Afterwards, they celebrated “their” impressive tunnel by taking a train ride from one end to the other.
 

Overwhelmed by the sense of excitement, the 2'500 invitees then attended an atmospheric event in the large marquee in Pollegio. The party featured a superb Ticino menu with matching local wines, a show, facilitation by Melanie Winiger, and the surprise appearance of special guest Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard.
 

Once the official part of the proceedings was over, the celebrations continued unabated in the side tents, with Ticino trio Nostranello in the grotto, a pianist in the smoking lounge, and the band Feensturm in the party tent. Afterwards, special trains conveyed the invitees back to their departure stations all over Switzerland.

Furrer Events supported AlpTransit Gotthard AG with the design and organisation, and was responsible for the smooth running of the proceedings in Erstfeld and Pollegio.
